Introducing the ACT Directors
Lynn is an actress, director, author, international conference speaker, wife and mother of
four, and co-founder of ACT. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Theatre Arts from
the University of Wisconsin—Eau Claire where she earned membership in the National
Collegiate Players. Lynn has over 20 years of experience in stage and radio, including voice
work for Focus on the Family. She has also been a guest on numerous television and radio
broadcasts around the country. Some of her favorite roles include Paulina in The Winter’s
Tale, Sarah in Going Home for Christmas, and Kim in Striking Out—a touring children’s
theatre production for which Lynn received a Best Actress nomination.

Lynn M. Hamilton
Barbi J. Carr
Barbi is an actress, dancer, singer, and writer. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theater and
a Music Minor from Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois. She has performed in such roles as
Annie Sullivan in The Miracle Worker, Agnes in Agnes of God, Abby Brewster in Arsenic and
Old Lace, Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, Joy (an evil step-sister) in Cinderella (the musical),
Odette in Swan Lake , and Cinderella in Cinderella (the ballet). She also held leading roles
for two years in the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center traveling children's theater production
PlayFactory. She has choreographed productions such as My Fair Lady, The Sound of
Music, and Cinderella, and directed and performed in several productions for Christian
ministries throughout the country. Having performed for over 20 years, she too loves to
teach, direct, and perform for children of all ages.

Jacque is an actress, director, artist, and writer (as well as a locally licensed Realtor). Over
the last 29 years, she has worked in many areas of theatre and film. As a teen, she was
involved with local music and youth theatre in Washington and the Wenatchee Youth Circus,
where she learned the secrets of eating fire and wire-walking! Later, while raising her four
children, (all of whom are actors) she was again brought into the theatre world in both Seattle
WA, directing and choreographing children's plays. In Charlotte, NC, she was an actress,
writer, set and costume designer, videographer and editor, stage manager, and techie.
Jacque's film experience includes both in front of the camera and behind, including a
commercial for the Oregon State Dairy Association and numerous locally filmed promos. Her
favorite acting roles over the years include Eliza in The King and I, Mrs. Kirby in You Can't
Take it With You, and an immersion theatre production of Winter's Solstice.
Jacque Abplanalp
Kaye von Kessel
Kaye holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Missouri State University and a Master of
Fine Arts degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She has acted, coached and
directed in over 50 productions in several cities in the United States and overseas. She has
performed roles as Evita from Evita, Peggy in the Taffetas, Mabel in Pirates of Penzance, the
Princess in Love’s Labour’s Lost and many other roles she enjoyed creating and performing.
Her favorite shows she has directed include Noises Off, Lil’ Abner, and Scrooge, the Carol
with an Attitude. She taught undergraduate acting, oral interpretation, theatre history,
introduction to the performing arts while pursuing her Masters at UNLV. Kaye has taught
acting for young people at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts center and is pleased to be a part
of ACT artistic staff. Kaye was the Director of Drama ministries at Woodmen Valley Chapel for
the past seven years. She is now enjoying free-lancing as an actor, vocal coach, director,
writer, and teacher. Kaye is married to a retired fighter pilot, Korky, and has two adult children
in the area.

Elizabeth is a dancer, writer, director and choreographer. She has danced ballet for eleven
years including four years with the Colorado Classical Youth Ballet Co. Under the direction
of Mrs. Patty Hoffman and Mrs. Holly Marble and other instructors, she has danced in various
roles, including Violin in Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra, Literary Muse in Muses,
Courtier in Cinderella, and Mary, Mother of Jesus in Spellbound with Brio Magazine Mission
Trips . With Mrs. Jeri Ewing, and other instructors, she has danced and performed for six
years doing Worship dance, and is currently dancing with the professional Christian dance
company, Ballet Emmanuel. Her love of dance has led her to other forms of dancing
including lyrical, modern, tap, and pointe. Her dance career has taken many different turns
including choreography, stage management, and directing, producing, and choreographing
her own productions. Besides dance Elizabeth enjoys playing the piano and guitar, reading,
writing, and spending time with her friends and family.
