ACT is proud to present a full-length production of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe dramatized by the award winning
playwright Joseph Robinette.  This script "faithfully recreates the wonderful world of C.S. Lewis' Narnia.  Here is the heroic tale of
love, faith, courage, and giving: the life and death struggle for control of Narnia and the grandeur of the triumph of good over evil
which has enthralled audiences of all ages."

This production will be cast by audition only, and as with all of our classes, there is a tuition to participate
.  ACT is also offering
production apprenticeships in technical, costumes, make-up, props and stage managing. (More details are listed below.)

ACTING Auditions:  Auditions will be held on August 2-3.  
    IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND THE AUDITIONS ON AUGUST 2nd or 3rd, YOU MAY SCHEDULE AN AUDITION TIME
    BEFORE THAT DATE.  Auditions will not be allowed after August 3rd.  

DANCE Auditions: August 5, from 5:30-7:30 PM.  
    IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND THE AUDITIONS ON AUGUST 5th, YOU MAY SCHEDULE AN AUDITION TIME
    BEFORE THAT DATE.

ACTORS Audition Process:
    1.  Check out the script (if you'd like) to read ahead of time.   

    Scripts may be checked out for 4 days by contacting the director at 282.9101.  The script MUST be returned within 4
    days to give all students a chance to read it before auditions.  (Keeping the script longer may reflect negatively on the
    actor.)

    2.  Contact the director (Lynn Hamilton) for an audition time (aoct@comcast.net or 282.9101).

    3.  Complete audition form for your gender

    4.  Have your parents fill out the parent consent form  

    5.  Memorize the lines of ONE of the characters in ONE of the following scenes.

    6.  Practice lines from other characters so that you are ready to read for other parts as well. (They do not need to be
    memorized.  We only ask you to memorize the lines for one character.)

    7.  Bring your completed audition form, your parent consent form, and A RECENT PHOTO of you to your audition.  

    8.  Call backs will be held on August 4 (Monday) from 4-8 PM.  (We will be calling back actors in groups depending upon the
    roles they are being considered for.)

    9.  The show will be cast by August 7th.  All actors will receive an email announcing if they were cast.  


DANCERS Auditions Process:
    1.  Complete dancer audition form

    2.  Have your parents complete the parent consent form

    3.  Schedule a dance audition with the director (Dance auditions will be held on August 5th from 5:30-7:30 PM.  (If you are
    unable to attend an audition on August 5th, you may schedule one earlier.)

    4.   The Dance Director will teach the dancers a dance piece at the audition, so please attend the audition in appropriate
    dance attire and shoes.

    5.   Bring your completed audition form, parent consent form, and A RECENT PHOTO of you to your audition.  

    6.  The show will be cast by August 7th.  All actors will receive an email announcing if they were cast.  

ACTOR Tuition: $195
    The tuition includes 13 weeks of instruction & rehearsals, 4 performances, workshops on sword play (taught by Ruselis
    Perry, who is a gymnast, martial artist, stunt man, actor, and choreographer), a script for each student to keep, and 2 tickets
    to a performance of the student's choice.  (Additional tickets will be available for purchase in October.)

DANCER & WITCH'S ARMY Tuition: $95
    The dancers and those actors cast only in the Witch's army have a reduced tuition of $95.  There will still be a costume &
    make-up usage fee added.  

Costumes Usage & Make-Up Fee (ALL actors/dancers):  $30
    Original costumes are being designed and built by ACT for each actor to use, but each student will need to provide his or her
    own leotard (body suit) and shoes.  (Yes, even some males will need a leotard to work with the costumes we are making.)
    The color of the leotard will depend upon the character.

    ACT will be providing full make-up on most of the characters, including prosthetics on some actors.  If you are allergic to
    stage make-up, please let us know, since that would effect the parts you could audition for.

Rehearsals:  All rehearsals (except dress rehearsals) will be held at Sunrise Church, Suite 200.  

Performances:  All performances will be held at Sunrise Connections Center (4005 Lee Vance View)

There will be two separate casts, with each cast giving 4 performances.  

SWORD FIGHTING SEMINAR: August 16th
     This is for ALL cast members, except dances.
           Red Cast: 1:00-2:00 PM
           Blue Cast: 2:00-3:00 PM
           Both Peters & Both Fenris Ulfs: 3:00-4:00 PM

"RED" Cast:

DANCERS:
  • Dancers will be rehearsing on Fridays from 5:30-7:30 PM starting August 15th.  There may be some rehearsals where only
    the lead dancers (White Stags) are needed.  
  • In October (exact dates to be announced) dancers will rehearse with their respective casts on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays.

WITCH'S ARMY ACTORS:
  • Those cast only in the Witch's army will be trained in sword fighting by Ruselis Perry (martial artist, stunt man, gymnast and
    actor) in one or more workshops.  
  • Witch's army will only need to attend scheduled rehearsals for their cast (red or blue) AFTER they have been trained and
    choreographed by Ruselis.  (Dates to be announced.)  Since they are mainly in the later part of the show, they will only need
    to attend that portion of the rehearsals until closer to opening.  Once we begin running the show straight through, all actors
    will need to be at all rehearsals.


PRODUCTION APPRENTICESHIPS

This semester, ACT will be offering apprenticeship positions to students interested in learning about technical, costumes, make-up,
props, stage managing and dance.  The apprentices will learn first hand as they work one-on-one with the production director or
dance director creating and designing in their respective fields, as well as hands on experience during the run of the shows.  
The
Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe
creates many creative opportunities in all aspects of production.

Some of the apprentice positions will start in the summer!
