Instructors: Kaye von Kessel & Lynn M. Hamilton
Location: Colorado Springs Christian School (CSCS)
During this exciting camp students will learn about musical theatre while preparing and performing a junior
version of a FULL musical theatre show. The junior version follows the same story line and music as the full-
length production, but runs just over an hour, making it feasible for a 1 week camp. On the last day of camp,
students will perform the show for family and friends.
Honk! Jr. is a wonderful musical show based on Hans Christian Anderson's story of the Ugly Duckling, but in a
contemporary style with fantastic and fun music. Honk! won the Olivier Award for Best Musical, beating out
Disney's production of the Lion King. There is physical comedy, plays on words and very witty dialogue. This is a
musical that relates to people of any age, a true family musical.
Please note: Since this is a full play and alterations to the script are not legal, not all the students will have the
same size role, like we do in our drama camps.
